Institut für Frischproduktlogistik

Das Institut für Frischproduktlogistik beschäftigt sich in Forschung und Lehre mit vielfältigen Fragestellungen rund um die Logistik, Qualität, Verarbeitung und Vermarktung von Lebensmitteln. Dabei steht bei nahezu allen Themen in Forschung und Lehre die ganzheitliche Betrachtung der Supply Chain von der Produktion bis zum Kunden im Fokus.

Durch das interdisziplinäre Team aus Logistikern, Ökonomen, Technologen und Agrarwissenschaftlern am Institut sowie durch die gute Vernetzung mit den anderen Instituten an der HGU gewähren wir Forschung und Lehre auf höchstem Niveau. Die engen Kontakte und die Zusammenarbeit mit den unterschiedlichen Unternehmen der Supply Chain „Lebensmittel“ sorgen außerdem für eine hohe Praxisrelevanz in Forschung und Lehre in einem zukunftsträchtigen Anwendungsbereich.

Das Institut organisiert darüber hinaus den bis dato in Deutschland einmaligen Studiengang Lebensmittellogistik und -management (B.Sc.).

The research and teaching activities in the Department of Fresh Produce Logistics cover a range of issues related to the logistics, quality, processing and marketing of foodstuffs. The main focus of our research and teaching in almost all areas is the comprehensive study of the supply chain, from production right through to the customer.

Thanks to our department’s interdisciplinary team of logisticians, economists, technologists and agricultural scientists and a good cooperative network with the other departments at HGU, we can offer research and teaching of the very highest quality.  Furthermore, our close ties and cooperation with the various different organisations within the “foodstuffs” supply chain ensure that our research and teaching have strong practical relevance in a field with a promising future.

In addition, the department runs the degree program “Logistics and Management of Fresh Products (B.Sc.)”, which at present is the only one of its kind in Germany.
