Welcome Week & Orientation Week for International Students

The Welcome Week for all students joining in the the 2025/26 winter semester will run from Monday, October 13, to Saturday, October 18. We're looking forward to welcoming you to the university!

International students are also invited to take part in the Orientation Week for International Students, which will take place one week earlier, from Tuesday, October 7 to Saturday, October 11. Collecting Your Student ID from the Admissions Office

The Admissions Office, located in the Müller-Thurgau-Haus, is open Monday and Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. You can pick your student ID during these hours.

The Alte Weinfass – the campus bar located in front of the Adminstration Building – will be open from 4 p.m. onwards. The Weinfass team is ready to treat you to grilled specialties and vegetarian delicacies, accompanied by beer and, of course, wine. 

Insider tip: Do you have your own winery and want to impress guests with your creations? Then get in touch with us and we’ll sell your wine at the Alte Weinfass.

Friday, October 17

Ultimate Frisbee, basketball and archery – come along and join in the fun!

Charity run for a good cause.

Learning Platforms

The university makes use of several learning platforms and other online tools to support your studies.

HisPro allows you to view your grades and edit your personal details, such as your address – a user guide is available here (in German). Lecturers will often upload learning materials to ILIAS or Stud.IP, where you can also submit homework and other exercises (see our video guide). Within the university, Big Blue Button is used as a video conference tool, and HGU Cloud is available as a place to store files online.
