Final results of the Senate election in the 2025/26 winter semester
Dear students,
as there were no objections to the preliminary election results by the deadline, we announce the final election results.
The following were elected to the Senate: Marie Harth, Katharina Geil, and Maja Molthan,
with Eva Lindig, Mia Andra, and Sonja Husemann as deputies.

Once again, I would like to express my sincere thanks to everyone who took on responsibility and stood for election, to the voters who contributed to a comparatively high turnout of around 35%, and to everyone who worked on or supported the election committee.

What does the Senate do?
The Senate is the university's highest decision-making body. It advises on matters relating to research, teaching, and studying that are of fundamental importance. Its other tasks are defined in § 42 of the Hessische Hochschulgesetz as well as the university's constitution (Grundordnung der Hochschule Geisenheim).
The Senate sonsists of 17 members from four status groups:
- Professors have nine seats
- Students have three seats
- Academic staff have three seats
- Administrative and technical staff have two seats
The Senate is elected for two years, though students elect their representatives annually.
The term of office for the new Senate members begins on April 1.
