International degree programs

Hochschule Geisenheim University's internationalisation program has seen the establishing of an English-language bachelor program, International Wine Business as well as a number of joint programs.

In the Viticulture, Enology and Wine Business areas, Hochschule Geisenheim University works with international cooperation partners to offer various joint or double international degree programs. Students study at both unis, often in different languages, thus not only improving their foreign language ability, but also gaining intercultural competence and seeing their degree subject from different geographical points of view.

The Italian double-bachelor program with the Universities of Udine und Trento is studied in Italian at the partner university and in German here in Geisenheim.

The VITIS-VINUM dual master’s program is offered in collaboration with Italian universities. In their first year, students attend either the courses of the “Scienze Viticole ed Enologiche” (Viticulture and Enology) master’s program at the University of Turin or the courses of the “Viticoltura, enologia e mercati vitivinicoli” (Viticulture, Enology, and Wine Markets) master’s program at the University of Verona. At the University of Turin, students can choose between English and Italian; at the University of Verona, courses are offered only in English. In their second year, they transfer to the English-language master’s program “Viticulture and Enology – VITIS-VINUM” at Geisenheim University.

The joint program, Viticulture, Enology and Wine Business (WÖW) with the University for Soil Science (BOKU) offers students the possibility to study in both Vienna and Geisenheim, with at least half a year at the partner uni. A pre-determined amount of modules must be completed in English.

The ErasmusMundus-program Vinifera Euromaster is offered by seven European universities renowned in the field of viticulture and enology. The first year is taught in English at Montpellier SupAgro and Bordeaux Sciences Agro in France. For the second year, students can choose between Madrid, Lisbon, Turin, Udine or Geisenheim, where teaching is also in English (except for Madrid). Students can also learn the country's language. Associated cooperation partners from wine regions all over the world mean that students can choose a third country in which to complete their thesis.
