With a clear goal: to provide PhD students with comprehensive support throughout their doctoral journey – from taking their first steps in research to developing their careers.
Interdisciplinary networking plays a central role: formats such as the Lecture Seminar Series foster exchange across disciplines and strengthen the academic community. This is complemented by a structured professional development program focusing on transferable skills, key competencies and personal development.

The Lecture Seminar Series accompanies you throughout your PhD journey: You present your dissertation project twice – at the beginning and towards the end of your PhD – receive valuable feedback and discuss your research with fellow PhD students and supervisors. Guest researchers from Germany and abroad provide new perspectives and inspiring input.
The final presentations also offer valuable preparation for your oral defense.
One session with two PhD student presentations or one session featuring a guest presentation counts as one credit. A total of 12 sessions must be completed.
Sooner or later, every PhD means writing.
All PhD students complete the two-day Academic Writing module. Alternatively, four tutorials combined with individual writing support can be completed.
Good research starts with Scientific Integrity.
The principles of responsible research are introduced right from the start. They raise awareness of ethical issues and provide the foundation for successful and professional academic work.

Five modules covering career planning, research skills and presentation techniques are available for individual selection.

External workshops or seminars may also be recognised upon application.
