Family Service

The Family Services Office is the central point of contact and coordinator for all (prospective) parents and those caring for dependent relatives alongside their studies or professional commitments. Our support team can provide you with relevant information to help you find individual solutions related to the care of relatives or children.

The State of Hesse has awarded Hochschule Geisenheim University (HGU) the status of a “Family-Friendly University”. HGU is the state’s third university to have received this distinction. As part of our assessment process, we have committed ourselves to pursuing family-friendly objectives and to implementing appropriate measures.

Successful Recertification of our Family-Friendly University Status

In order to continue to bear the seal of approval ‘Family-Friendly University of the State of Hesse’, our university had to undergo recertification at the beginning of 2018. In two workshops on February 1 and 6, 2018, employees and students discussed their ideas and requirements for ensuring the university is family-friendly.

Thanks to the successful completion of the process, Hochschule Geisenheim University has now been awarded the seal of approval for another four years. The award ceremony took place on May 3, 2018, at Biebrich Palace. Our institution was represented by Chancellor Marion Waldeck, Women's and Equal Opportunities Officer Sabine Muth, and Family Services Officer Beata Szabo.
