Partner Universities

Hochschule Geisenheim University has connections to a range of institutions around the globe through various partnership and exchange agreements. As a student at our university, you have the opportunity to visit one of these institutions to complete a semester abroad, carry out a research project, or write your thesis, without the need to pay additional tuition fees.

Your professors, lecturers, and researchers at Hochschule Geisenheim University have plenty of contacts, professional networks, and collaborating colleagues abroad – make sure to ask your lecturers or the head of your degree program about potential opportunities.

Our partner universities also offer our employees opportunities for exchange and joint projects.

The list below offers you an overview of the language requirements, subject areas, and semester dates at our partner universities. You will also find further links for country-specific information on suitable scholarships or travel and safety information. The list itself is currently under construction and missing information will be added over time.

We are constantly expanding our partnerships with other universities! Please contact the International Office if you can't (yet) find a specific university on our list of partner universities.

The partnerships are listed along with the degree program suited to that institution, but it may also be possible for the International Office to nominate students from other degree programs after consulting with the university in question.

Interested in studying in the USA or Australia but unsure how to finance it? In order to help students afford studying abroad in these contries despite their high tuition fees, the state of Hesse concluded a student exchange agreement with Massachusetts and Wisconsin in the USA and the state of Queensland in Australia.

Participants in this program don't need to pay the American or Australian host university's tuition fees and can apply for other scholarship programs or foreign student loans to cover other costs. As part of the exchange program, you can apply for a place at one of the participating partner universities.

The first step to applying is through Hochschule Geisenheim University's International Office. Submit your application by sending us an e-mail (international(at)hs-gm.de) with your application documents (in English) attached. If you are selected for the program, you must then make an additional application to the relevant university.

The application deadline for a stay in the USA is in November for the following academic year. For a stay in Australia, you can apply in May for the following year.

A special opportunity for a stay abroad in the USA (University of California, Davis) is offered by the Flossfeder Scholarship of Hochschule Geisenheim University for the degree courses Beverage Technology and Viticulture and Enology.

Due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, it is not possible to study there until further notice. Hochschule Geisenheim University is coordinating organizational, technical and financial support for employees and members of its partner universities:
