General Information for Applicants with a German University Entrance Certificate

Hochschule Geisenheim University offers eight bachelor's degree programs with unrestricted admissions. This means that any student who meets the specific program requirements and submits a complete application within the designated application period is guaranteed a place. A pre-study internship is required for all programs, except for the B.Sc. in Food Safety and the B.Sc. in Food Chain Management. Detailed information about the contents of each program, as well as guidance on pre-study internships, can be found on the individual degree program pages.

All bachelor's degree programs start in the winter semester. Applications should be made online. Further information can be found here.

Please note that most degree programs at Hochschule Geisenheim University require a pre-study internship in the relevant field. Further information regarding companies and content can be found on the homepage of the study program.

Students wanting to enroll for a master's degree program at Hochschule Geisenheim University must also fulfill the requirements of the specific degree program and submit a complete application within the designated application period. Applications can also be made at one of the cooperation universities. Information about the admission requirements for the specific master's degree programs can be found on the individual degree program pages, and general dates and deadlines are available here (in German).

• Graduates with a degree in horticulture, agriculture, or a comparable degree can apply for the Crop and Horticultural Science (M.Sc.) program with the option to start in either the summer or winter semester. It is also possible to make an application to start in an advanced semester.
• Graduates with a degree in Landscape Architecture, or a comparable degree, can apply for the Landscape Architecture and Landscape Planning (M.Sc.) program, with the option to start in either the summer or winter semester.
• Graduates with a degree in food safety, food chemistry, food technology, or a comparable degree can apply for the Food Safety (M.Sc.) program, with the option to start in either the summer or winter semester. It is also possible to make an application to start in an advanced semester.
• Applicants interested in applying for a place on the Enology (M.Sc.), Wine Business (M.Sc.), or Beverage Technology (M.Sc.) programs should apply through our cooperation partner, Justus-Liebig University Gießen.
• Applications for the Environmental Management and Urban Planning in Metropolitan Areas (M.Eng.) program, offered in cooperation with Hochschule RheinMain and Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences, should be submitted to Hochschule RheinMain.
• Applications for the Vinifera EuroMaster degree program should be made through the coordinating institution of the Vinifera Consortium, Montpellier SupAgro: www.vinifera-euromaster.eu
• For the dual-degree master program, VITIS-VINUM, applications should be made to University of Turin or University of Udine, where the first year of the program takes place.
• Applications for the Viticulture, Enology and Wine Business (M.Sc.) program should be made to the coordinating institution, BOKU University.
