You study here - our new building

The new seminar building for Food Logistics & Sustainability opened in 2024 and offers our students ideal conditions for hands-on learning and working. The laboratories allow students to gain hands-on experience and explore new ideas.

The building features two floors of fully equipped laboratories, seminar rooms, and lecture halls with the latest digital technology, as well as technical areas and offices for modern teaching and teaching-related research (e.g., final theses). All areas of the building are barrier-free and equipped with modern low-temperature insulation, photovoltaic systems, and cisterns for rainwater harvesting.

Practice up close: our technical center

In the technical internship and in the laboratories, the effects of supply chain conditions from agricultural production to the consumer can be researched. For example, logistics processes and consumer behavior can be simulated by replicating a supermarket department. Furthermore, the effects of product, process, and supply chain factors, including packaging technology, on product quality, availability, and consumer behavior can be researched.

In PC labs equipped with state-of-the-art hardware, students can implement complex simulations and optimizations of supply chains in the food sector, as well as conduct models and analyses to reduce resource use in supply chains.
