The Career Service of Hochschule Geisenheim University not only answers questions the students may have about their professional orientation and qualifications, but also supports students who have doubts about their studies and problems transitioning from university into a working environment.
We offer guidance and new perspectives through selected seminars, workshops and projects to promote the students’ key skills, and we also offer personal counselling. Everything free of charge, of course!
Due to our wide range of contacts with regional and international potential employers, the Career Service is an important mediator between students and the working world. With our network reaching outside the university, we are able to council students with different kinds of needs, from leaving university to starting up a new business.

Hochschule Geisenheim University's Language Center offers courses in European (also German Language courses for our international students) and non-European languages for around 100-120 teaching hours per semester. Our courses are university-specific and train academic skills such as presenting, discussing topics and academic writing. A team of 21 highly qualified and motivated freelance trainers work closely with the Language Center staff to guarantee a high quality in all our courses.
Knowledge of foreign languages not only prepares our students for internships and work abroad, but also increases their chances in an increasingly international-thinking German job market.
Before students start on their subject-related language modules (a compulsory element of most of our degree programs), the Language Center also offers 'Preparation Courses', in which students can learn a language as a complete beginner, or refresh their existing knowledge.
Registration for these courses takes place at the beginning of wintersemester in Stud.IP.
Sufficient knowledge of the German language is a basic requirement for foreign students following a degree course in German at Geisenheim University. For students who would like to brush up their German skills while studying, the Language Center offers free German courses.
These courses are especially relevant to foreign students studying for an English-language degree, eg. IWB or Vinifera, who are interested in learning German in our small, relaxed classes while in Germany.
Please contact the Language Center for further information about any of our courses.
The Language Center prides itself on being a place of intercultural exchange and language acqusition for worldwide networking.
