On October 1, 2026, we celebrated the official opening of our new experimental and educational brewery – an important milestone for research and education at Hochschule Geisenheim University!

Prof. Dr. Bernd Lindemann welcomed the guests – including Prof. Dr. Martina Gastl, professor and head of the Weihenstephan Research Institute for Brewing and Food Quality, and Johannes Schulz-Hess, owner of Kaspar Schulz, Brauereimaschinenfabrik & Apparatebauanstalt GmbH – and gave a short presentation of the brewery and explained how the project came about. During the following tour led by brewer Felix Baumgartner, guests had the chance to see the facility’s special features up close.

A highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of a commemorative plaque listing the supporting companies. The event concluded with pleasant conversations over drinks and a group lunch.

Hochschule Geisenheim University would like to thank Kaspar Schultz for the smooth implementation, and everyone involved in making this project possible.
