Congratulations to Lukas Steng (née Fichtl) on the successful defense of his doctoral dissertation, “Phenotyping and Modelling Grapevine Root System Architecture across Rootstock Genotypes,” which took place at Hochschule Geisenheim University on September 25, 2026. Lukas completed his doctorate with the highest distinction, summa cum laude!

The dissertation was supervised by Dr. Matthias Friedel (Hochschule Geisenheim University) and additionally reviewed by Prof. Dr. Andrea Schnepf (University of Bonn) and Prof. Dr. Astrid Forneck (BOKU University).
