The Goldene Lindenblatt honors individuals who have made exceptional contributions to the town of Geisenheim. For Professor Schultz, the award recognizes his long-standing commitment, tireless dedication, and outstanding services to the city and our university.
In his speech Christian Aßmann, Geisenheim's mayor, praised Professor Schultz as a defining personality for Geisenheim – someone who has deep roots in the town, but has remained true to themselves: “The fact that the term ‘Geisenheimer’ receives recognition and positive reactions worldwide is due, in large part, to his personal efforts. He has helped Hochschule Geisenheim University grow and reach new heights of success. The various construction projects and other initiatives at the university would not have been possible without his passion, dedication, and vision. He has had an extremely positive and lasting impact on Geisenheim, helping transform it into the charming, attractive university town it is today.
“Listening to him speak is like attending an expert academic lecture among friends at a cosy wine tavern,” Aßmann added with a wink.
The Goldene Lindenblatt is one of Geisenheim's highest honors. Once a year, it is awarded to people who have gone above and beyond to make a longterm contribution to the common good. This year, three individuals received the award.
We at Hochschule Geisenheim University are proud of this recognition and join our president in celebrating this honor. Congratulations, Professor Schultz!
Hochschule Geisenheim University once again had its own stand at the Lindenfest this year, and delighted customers with enthusiasm, great conversations and, of course, wines from the university vineyard, complete with our newly designed labels!
A big thank you also goes to Roger Baumeister and our reliable partner GMAssist for their dedicated support at the stand.
