We warmly congratulate Dr. Shanmugapriya Selvaraj on the successful completion of her doctoral studies.

In her doctoral thesis, entitled "Mapping Winter Catch Crops in Germany Using Sentinel-1 SAR and Sentinel-2 Optical Time Series," Dr. Selvaraj investigated satellite-based approaches for mapping winter catch crops across Germany. By combining radar and optical satellite time series, her research advances digital remote sensing methods for agricultural monitoring and contributes to the development of innovative tools for sustainable land management. 

The dissertation was conducted at Hochschule Geisenheim University under the supervision of Prof. Dr.-Ing. Damian Bargiel (Department of Landscape Planning and Nature Conservation). The second examiner was Prof. Dr. Philip Marzahn from the University of Rostock (Faculty of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences). Prof. Dr.-Ing. Andreas Eichhorn from the Technical University of Darmstadt (Institute of Geodesy) served as an additional examiner on the evaluation committee.
