Competence Center Cultural Landscape (CULT)

science.practice.discourse.

Today's modern age is causing great changes in cultural landscapes. The use of landscapes through intensification of land use (agriculture, forestry, settlements, energy generation etc.) leads to ever more profound changes in these high-quality cultural landscapes. Characteristics such as historical elements and diversity, which determine value are irretrievably lost.

The Competence Centre Cultural Landscape works on these current social challenges of sustainable development of the cultural landscape in a cooperative network. To this end, we organise specialist events and further training and thus promote the development of professional standards.

Young Scientists Conference Food Biotechnology Summer School in Geisenheim Supported by DECHEMA

Credits: Torsten Silz

Discussing current topics in food biotechnology, learning from experts and peers - that's the goal of our Summer School for doctoral students and early postdocs. Expert lectures provide a comprehensive introduction to topics such as aroma production and analysis, enzymes in food production or experimental design. To promote the exchange of ideas and experiences, young scientists are invited to present and discuss their current work.

Situated between the vineyards and the Rhine, Hochschule Geisenheim University looks forward to welcoming you on September 20 – 22, 2023. The scientific program will be rounded off by a get-together including wine tasting and a conference dinner.

The Summer School is aimed at doctoral students from all fields of food biotechnology and post-doctoral researchers in the early stages of their careers from Germany and abroad. We recommend early registration as the number of participants is limited (first come – first served). Please register online by June 22, 2023: summerschool(at)hs-gm.de

PRESENTATIONS AND POSTERS

Please hand in a short summary of your work (150 – 300 words) with your registration. Submitted abstracts will be reviewed and selected by the Advisory Board. Accepted abstracts will be included in the program and abstract book and published online.
