Decision support system for scheduled irrigation

GS-Netz stands for „Geisenheim Scheduled Irrigation Network“. Its aim is to develop an innovative decision support system for scheduled irrigation in vegetable crops ("GS-Mobil" app). Furthermore, a transfer of knowledge from the project to farmers and practitioners is an objective. The Federal Office for Agriculture and Food (BLE) aided the development of the prototype GSmobil in an innovation project.

Project partners are beside the Hochschule Geisenheim University, two agricultural advisory services (LLH and DLR RLP), the german weather service (DWD), Helm Software, the hessian horticulture association as well four vegetable farmers. A special focus in this network is the cooperation of all collaborators, to enable the continuous enhancement of the "GS-Mobil" app. GS-Netz is a European Innovation Project (EIP) with a sponsorship by the European Union and the federal state Hesse.
