Professorship for Applied Geoinformatics in Landscape Planning

Geodata provide various information about the earth’s surface based on a specific location, and is used to map our landscape and to visualize how it changes over time. Digital geodata in particular play a major role in the daily work of landscape planning.

The Professorship for Applied Geoinformatics in Landscape Planning explores the processing and application of digital geodata with a main focus on landscape planning, which also includes the development and use of specific methods of AI and machine data processing. The overall goal is a modern and application-oriented digitization to monitor, protect and plan our landscape efficiently. As part of the teaching activities of the professorship, students learn to collect, process, analyze and map geodata. In practical computer-based exercises, they have the opportunity to directly apply the knowledge they have acquired in class.
