HeFDI

Hessian Research Data Infrastructures

In order to address the digital transformation at universities, adequate infrastructure and services must be in place to support researchers in managing their digital research data. For this reason, the HeFDI Federal State Initiative for Digital Research Data was created.

Since 2016, eleven Hessian universities have been cooperating to establish such infrastructures and services. In its first stage, the "HeFDI I" project (2016-2020) initiated the adoption of guidelines for managing research data, developed training and consulting services, and introduced a joint Information portal and initial IT services. In "HeFDI II" (2021-2024), the infrastructures and synergies established in the first phase will be further developed.

Research Data Infrastructures

In cooperation with TU Darmstadt, Hochschule Geisenheim University offers the following IT services:

  • A platform for collaboratively creating and managing data management plans (RDMO - Research Data Management Organiser),
  • The research data repository "TUdatalib“
Synergies

A network of research data officers (FoDaRe) of the HeFDI partner universities has been established. Synergies are created through regular meetings and the constructive exchange of knowledge and experience, for example, on consulting issues, training and the set-up of the research data infrastructures that have been introduced.
