CORONAVIRUS / COVID19 - PANDEMIC - IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Corona Pandemic Update

Message from the President Regarding the Corona Virus (XLI)

Dear colleagues, dear stundents,

Important: The latest version of Covid-19 regulations (§ 3a attached documents (only in German)) contain a new paragraph on mandatory testing for staff members who are neither vaccinated nor recovered but in regular contact with external persons (i.e. students). These tests (2 per week) can be either conducted by a certified test center or using self-testing kits provided by the employer and they NEED to be DOCUMENTED (to be stored for at least 2 weeks). This rule applies to teaching staff and every service unit in contact with external persons if not vaccinated or recovered.

Tests offered by test centers should be free of charge starting next week. You can find a list using this link  https://www.rheingau-taunus.de/corona/testcenter.html

The University continues to maintain the current rules for a hybrid semester with emphasis on courses in presence where ever possible. There have been no general changes in the latest issue of Covid-19 regulations for Universities.

Please make sure that masks can only be taken off in courses, where every student has been controlled with respect to the 3-G-rules (vaccinated, recovered, tested) AND the 1,5meter distance (seating or lab course bench distance a.s.o) can be respected.

Please stay healty!

Sincerely

Hans R. Schultz
