Anniversary event: graduate school of Hochschule Geisenheim University celebrates its 200. seminar

Guest speaker of Hessian Agency for Nature Conservation & Environment and Geology give a talk on climate change in Hesse

On October, 25th 2018 the graduate school of Hochschule Geisenheim University celebrates its 200. seminar. The event was attended by Prof. Dr. Thomas Schmid, the president of the Hessian Agency for Nature Conservation & Environment and Geology (HLNUG) as well as three guest speakers from the agency’s center for climate change and adaption, giving lectures on the significant topic of “climate change in Hesse – facts, challenges and solution approaches”. Dr. Heike Hübener talked about climate change in the past and the future. Dr. Johanna Lenz used the example of the honey bee and tree vitality to show which consequences climate change has on nature while Susanne Schroth presented the consequences of climate change on health, using the examples of heat and mosquitos. Prof. Dr. Annette Reineke, vice-president for research at Hochschule Geisenheim University talked about possibilities to become a doctoral student at Geisenheim. To end the event all participants were invited to enjoy a drink in the canteen’s foyer. Presentations on topic related subjects by doctoral students of Hochschule Geisenheim University were exhibited in the foyer.
