Academic Bicycle Challenge at Hochschule Geisenheim University in September

Be part of it!

In September 2022, Hochschule Geisenheim University takes part in the Academic Bicycle Challenge – and our goal is to rank first so we need your active support (and at the same time, you can boost your fitness, too!) Every kilometer counts.

It doesn’t matter where you are – on holiday, on your way to work or on a sunny day out – just switch on the app and start cycling for Hochschule Geisenheim University!

The Academic Bicycle Challenge (ABC) is an international bicycle competition for institutions of higher education that aims to find the most active cycling institution worldwide. HGU wants to be one of those institutions  - which means that we need you:

We warmly invite you to cycle as often as possible during one month, for your fitness and for climate protection, and collect as many kilometers as possible for our university!

All trips count – no matter where you are. The final results are evaluated per person, which means that you have a much greater influence on our total result than, for example, an employee or student at the University of Frankfurt.

Here’s how it works: Install the Naviki-App on your phone, enable ABC participation in the app settings, join a team or start your own. Then all you have to do is cycle as often as possible and record all trips. That way, you collect kilometers for yourself, your team, your degree program and our university. You will see the effect immediately in the tables available in the app. The thrill rises – who is leading the challenge?

All students and staff members are invited to take part. The ABC starts on September 1 and ends on September 30, 2022. Other universities from around the world also compete for 30 days, but sometimes their challenge start in a different month. The ABC is an annual event.
