Geisenheim offers students a high quality of living: The university town has a unique location between vineyards and the Rhine - and has direct access to the vibrant Rhine-Main area.

 

  • The town, with its 12,000 inhabitants, is situated around 20km west of the state capital, Wiesbaden.
  • It is easy to reach using the Regionalzug, the regional train, which travels from Frankfurt, Wiesbaden and Koblenz direct to Geisenheim.
  • Frankfurt International Airport is only 40 minutes away by car.

Student Life in Geisenheim

  • The town center, where you can find supermarkets, restaurants, stores, and a cinema, is within walking distance of the university's leafy campus.
  • If you are interested in sports, the University Sport program and local sports clubs offer a wide range of activities: Geisenheim has both an indoor and outdoor pool, a stadium, various indoor gyms and watersport offers – stand-up-paddling, kayaking or rowing.
  • The vineyards and forests which surround the town are ideal for hiking and mountain-biking.
