NEW as of January 1, 2022: Electronic health insurance reporting procedure for students

According to German law (199a SGB V), health insurance providers and universities have a mutual obligation to report the health insurance status of students. This includes students, irrespective of their country of origin. Please note: If you have any form of health insurance other than student statutory health insurance, please contact a statutory health insurance company and have your insurance reviewed.

To ensure a smooth digital reporting of your insurance data, please make sure that your personal details (last name, first name(s), date of birth) are correct and match the information in your passport or ID.

On January 1, 2022, Hochschule Geisenheim University introduced the digital reporting procedure, which means that your health insurance company will send us a digital notification of your insurance status. Paper-based notifications or a copy of your insurance card are no longer accepted.

Students with statutory health insurance
If you have public health insurance at the time of enrollment, please contact your insurance company and request a digital notification of your insurance status (called "M10"). Please make sure to give your health insurance provider our sender number: H0000137. Your insurance provider will send us an electronic notification of your insurance status within 24 hours.

Students with private health insurance
If you are insured by a private health insurance company at the time of enrollment, please contact any public health insurance provider and request an M10 for enrollment at Hochschule Geisenheim University quoting the sender number H0000137, and they will notify us of your insurance status.

Doctoral students
Doctoral students do not need to prove their insurance status.
