Studying on famous terrain

Prominent experts have always studied and carried out research at the Hochschule Geisenheim, previously known as the Hessen Teaching Institute for Viticulture and Horticulture. Hermann Müller Thurgau, who, in 1888  bred the vine variety, Müller Thurgau, here; Julius Koch, who introduced the first bottled orange juice (‘Hohes C’)  to Germany in the 1950s,  and later created the Multivitamin Juice, ‘Dr Koch’s Trink 10. Gerhard Troost, well-known to Viticultural scientists as the author of such works as ‘Technologie des Weines’ and ‘Sekt, Schaumwein, Perlwein’. Ornamental horticulturalist and ‘plant hunter’ Wolf-Uwe von Hentig, who is credited with the discovery and breeding of numerous new and well-loved bedding and container plants, eg Swan River Daisy (Brachyscome iberidifolia). Peter-Paschold Jürgen, who is still recognized today as the absolute expert in international asparagus research.
